In the 1980s, the Bascuñán family bred Helix Aspersa Müller snails for the French food market. During the process, they noticed that their hands were surprisingly moisturised, smooth and soft , and that small wounds not only did not become infected, but also healed more quickly.It was then that Don Fernando Bascuñan asked his son, a recent medical graduate, to investigate why snail slime produced these miracles in his hands when he came into contact with it.And what began as a scientific curiosity gave rise to an innovative company with a successful product that is sold in more than 45 countries around the world ; discovering that Elicina naturally contains a true concentration of active ingredients that regenerate and repair the snail's tissues when it moves and protect it from microorganisms, contaminants, and even from freezing during the winter.
